From Magical Mouse Plans to Modern Travel Professionals

If you found an old article about Magical Mouse Plans Travel, MMP Travel or The Vacation Architect, that was me. Same Christine Hardenberger. Different haircut.

I started Magical Mouse Plans Travel in 2007. As you might guess from the name, it was mostly Orlando vacations and family cruises. TravelPulse wrote about it. The Simple Dollar quoted me on repositioning cruises. For a while I even called myself The Vacation Architect, which sounded very official for someone wearing mouse ears.

A few years in, I shortened the name to MMP Travel. (Say "Magical Mouse Plans Travel" five times fast. I'll wait.)

Then my clients grew up. So did I. The people calling me stopped asking about character dining. They wanted to float down the Rhine with a glass of Riesling, or let somebody else drive the bus through Tuscany for once.

Around 2018, MMP Travel became Modern Travel Professionals. Today the agency has 34 advisors and is based in Richmond, Virginia. I personally plan Viking river cruises, guided European tours, ocean cruises and adults-only Caribbean resorts for Gen X empty-nesters.

So if the internet still says I'm a Disney planner, the internet is about ten years behind. Kind of like that VCR still blinking 12:00.
