Travel Insurance Election

While the agents of Modern Travel Professionals are not insurance agents, we are required to offer you travel insurance and to educate you of the risks you take should you choose not to purchase this protection.

There is no better way to protect your vacation investment than by purchasing travel insurance. Many situations can wreak havoc with your travel plans and end up costing you money: flight delays, lost luggage or passports, medical emergencies, unforeseen evacuations, and cancellations just to name a few. Travel insurance can provide you peace of mind and reassurance that your vacation dollars are protected.

The majority of Americans do not have health coverage that is valid outside the United States and Medicare does not offer any coverage outside the US. It is worth noting that all ships of foreign registry (and very few ships are registered in the United States) are considered to be 'outside the United States' by Medicare. Even those traveling within the US will often find themselves out of network with severely reduced benefits.  Without medical coverage, travelers should be prepared to pay for any and all are they require at the time of service.

1. Can you risk losing your vacation investment if  you must cancel your trip due to illness, weather or other unforeseen circumstances?
2. If you have to cut your trip short due to an emergency, can you afford the cost of a return trip home?
3. Does your health insurance provide coverage away from home and out of the country?
4. If your bags are lost or you have to spend an extra night because of weather-related problems, can you afford to buy necessities and pay for extra lodging?

If you cannot answer 'YES' to the above questions, Modern Travel Professionals recommends travel insurance.

You may purchase travel insurance up until final payment date. Please be aware that in order to receive maximum benefits, insurance must be purchased within 14 days of your initial deposit.
