5 Reasons to Visit Walt Disney World This Fall

Fall is an increasingly popular time to visit Walt Disney World, and with good reason – there are lots of great special events available, and later in fall the temperature and rain scale back from their summer heights. This is also the perfect time to enjoy the spookiest season of them all, or bring out your inner foodie. Here are 5 reasons to visit Walt Disney World this fall.

1. Celebrate the Magic of Halloween

is a hard-ticket seasonal event offered at the Magic Kingdom. It includes amazing and exclusive entertainment, characters, food, and merchandise, and – of course – trick-or-treating. If you want to experience Halloween at Walt Disney World, this is a must-do, and has some of our favorite entertainment at the Magic Kingdom from the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular to the Happy Hallowishes fireworks.

Even if you’re not attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you can still enjoy fun Halloween decorations around the Magic Kingdom. There are a bunch of jack-o-lanterns scattered around Main Street, and I especially love the scarecrow characters that greet you in Town Square.

2. Double Dose of Holiday Magic

Why not celebrate two holidays in one on your vacation? After the last Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place, the Magic Kingdom goes through an amazing overnight transformation from Halloween to Christmas. If you’re staying during that period, you get to see this magical changeover – one day it’s Halloween, and the next it’s Christmas!

3. A Foodie’s Paradise

The popular Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is returning for another year of delicious dishes and drinks, and this year it’s including a few new marketplaces such as Spain and India. The festival is perfect for foodies looking to try a wide variety of cuisines while strolling around the beautiful World Showcase at Epcot. If you want to experience tastes from around the world, you’ll want to visit Walt Disney World this fall.

4. Happily Ever After

Another great reason to visit Walt Disney World this fall is all the new attractions and entertainment available. Do not miss the Magic Kingdom’s all-new nighttime spectacular! The new show features beautiful projection mapping on Cinderella Castle coupled with breathtaking pyrotechnics, and brings to life the stories of classic Disney films such as Dumbo and Snow White, to recent favorites such as Tangled, The Incredibles, and more.

5. Pandora: The World of Avatar

Make your way to another galaxy and visit the beautiful alien planet of Pandora! This all-new land features two new attractions, Na’Vi River Journey and the groundbreaking Avatar: Flight of Passage. Sample the local cuisine at Satu’li Canteen, or take home a flying banshee of your own from the hatchery at Windtraders. You also won’t want to miss this immersive new world at night, when the bioluminescent forest comes to life.
