My Dream Trip Through France with Globus

As you read this, I’m traveling through some of the most beautiful and meaningful places in France on a journey I’ve been dreaming about for years. This isn't just a vacation—it's a heartfelt return to some of Europe’s most iconic landmarks and a deep dive into French history, culture, food, and countryside charm.
I’m traveling with Globus Journeys on their “Paris, Normandy & Châteaux Country” tour—a curated 9-day experience that begins and ends in Paris. This itinerary weaves together incredible contrasts: vibrant cities and peaceful villages, grand châteaux and charming seaside towns, emotional World War II memorials and whimsical Impressionist gardens.
Here are just a few of the experiences I’m excited about:
Dining at the Eiffel Tower on my first night in Paris (yes—inside the tower!)
Walking through Claude Monet’s gardens in Giverny, the very place that inspired his famous water lilies
Reflecting on the past while visiting Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery in Normandy
Being awed by Mont St. Michel, the magical island crowned with an abbey that rises straight from the sea
Sipping wine and strolling through fairytale-like castles in the Loire Valley
Ending the trip with a dinner cruise on the Seine River, gazing at the sparkling lights of Paris from the water
In preparation for this French adventure, I’ve been brushing up on my French with Duolingo and Rosetta Stone—and even immersing myself in French TV shows on Netflix (a fun and surprisingly effective way to pick up the rhythm and charm of the language!). It’s been such a joy to reconnect with the language, and I’m hoping to use a few phrases along the way.
One extra-special moment I’m looking forward to? I’ll be in Paris on Bastille Day—France’s national holiday, celebrated with fireworks, music, and joy all over the city. What a memory that will be!
After this Globus tour wraps up, I’m continuing my journey by heading to Dijon to board an Avalon Waterways cruise through Burgundy & Provence—a slower, more relaxed way to soak in the beauty of southern France. I’ll finish this incredible vacation in Marseille, by the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean. (I’ll be sharing another blog post about that part of the journey soon—so stay tuned!)
If you’ve ever dreamed of experiencing France in a deeper, more meaningful way—from historic landmarks to vineyard-dotted countryside—this kind of trip is truly a beautiful way to do it. And when I return, I’d love to help you plan your own French escape, while the memories (and maybe a little French vocabulary!) are still fresh.
À bientôt!
