Tips to Save for Your Next Vacation

Whether you're thinking of a trip soon or sometime next year, it's always important to have something to look forward to - but, you may not be sure that you can swing an awesome vacation. Actually, there are lots of great ways to make sure that you can afford that future trip - here are some tips!

Deposit and Pay as You Go

Most destinations and cruise lines allow you to confirm your booking with just a small deposit and then make payments over time. Get your trip on the books early and you will have a long time to pay in full.

Allocate Savings for Your Trip

Have a place that the savings for your trip will go, whether it's a specific savings category in your budget, or a savings account with your bank. It's helpful to have a place to budget the money that you'll be putting towards the trip. Plus, put any bonus money into your savings as well, such as money from garage sales, birthday gifts, selling something on Craigslist, and so on.

Start a Registry

Is your trip going to be a destination wedding or honeymoon? Instead of registering for gifts (you don't really need new towels do you?), have your guests contribute to your honeymoon instead! (Ask me how we can set up a dedicated Honeymoon Registry for you!)

Be Flexible on Flights

If you have any flexibility regarding your travel dates, even if it's only a few days difference, check flight prices before confirming your trip. Flights can vary widely in pricing, so if you can be even a little bit flexible, you may be able to save some extra on your flights. Plus, if possible, look at airlines that offer additional savings, such as airlines that don't charge baggage fees.

Book with a Travel Agent

Make your vacation dollars count by working with an experienced travel agent! We know that you're spending your hard-earned dollars and want to make your vacation count, and we know that you want to get the best possible price. But, one of the things we always stress to our guests is that the cheapest option is not necessarily the best value. This doesn't mean breaking the bank - instead, what we help our guests do is find the best combination of amenities and price that offer the best value for your vacation dollar. We help our guests find the best value for them to make your savings count!
