How did you get into travel?
I actually spent 28 wonderful years running a florist and collectible shop, where we specialized in Disney Animation art. Over time, I found myself doing more than just helping clients pick out gifts or artwork—I was helping them plan their Disney vacations too! It was such a natural extension of what I loved: creating joy and helping people celebrate special moments.
That passion eventually led me to Modern Travel Professionals, where I truly found my calling. With the support and training I received there, I’ve been able to expand beyond theme park vacations and help my clients check off those big, bucket-list destinations they’ve been dreaming about for years.
I bring my extensive cruise experience—both ocean and river—to the table, along with a deep love for travel. I especially enjoy working with Globus for escorted tours around the world. There’s just something so rewarding about taking the stress out of travel planning and helping someone experience a destination they’ve always wanted to see.
What's the biggest mistake you see travelers make?
There are two big mistakes I see travelers make—and both can really affect the quality of their trip.
The first (and most important!) is traveling without travel insurance. Things can and do go wrong—flights get delayed, luggage gets lost, people get sick. Travel insurance gives you peace of mind and protects the investment you’ve made in your vacation. It’s one of those things you hope you never need, but you’ll be so glad you have it if you do.
The second mistake? Trying to cram too much into a short amount of time. I get it—when you're excited about a destination, it's tempting to want to see and do everything. But in reality, over-scheduling can leave you feeling rushed and exhausted. I always encourage my clients to slow down a little, savor the experience, and leave space for spontaneous moments (which are often the most memorable ones!).
Travel should be joyful, not stressful—and a little planning and pacing go a long way.
What is one trip you've taken that you think everyone should take in their life?
It’s hard to choose just one, but my Norwegian fjords cruise stands out as a truly unforgettable experience. Sailing through those breathtaking landscapes—the towering mountains, the waterfalls, the peaceful villages tucked along the water—it honestly felt like I had stepped into a painting. I think everyone should see that kind of natural beauty at least once in their life.
As for land journeys, my time in Japan was nothing short of amazing. I fell in love with everything—the food, the culture, and especially how clean and orderly everything was. The kindness and consideration of the people made such a lasting impression on me. Every morning I woke up in Japan, I had to remind myself, “I’m really here!” It was a dream come true, and one I’ll never forget.
What's one item you can't imagine traveling without?
One item I never travel without is a bit of local currency. Even in today’s mostly cashless world, there are always those moments when actual cash comes in handy—like needing coins for a restroom in London or buying something special from a local vendor just outside a popular tourist spot. You don’t need a lot, but having a little cash tucked away can save you some stress and make those small, unexpected moments so much easier.
What's your idea of the perfect vacation?
My idea of the perfect vacation is one that’s thoughtfully planned out in advance—so when I arrive, I can just enjoy it without having to make a bunch of decisions on the fly. I really appreciate a good itinerary that takes care of the details, but I also love having some scheduled free time built in. Whether it’s to relax, do a little shopping, or wander off to try the local cuisine, that balance of structure and freedom is what makes a trip feel just right.
What's the #1 thing you wish more people knew about planning a trip?
The #1 thing I wish more people knew about planning a trip is how important it is to book in advance. Tours sell out, the best cabins on cruise ships are the first to go, and waiting too long can really limit your options.
Booking early not only gives you the best selection—it also gives you time to pay for your trip gradually. Whether it’s monthly or weekly payments, spreading out the cost makes things so much easier and less stressful when the final payment comes due. It’s a smart way to plan and it gives you something exciting to look forward to!
