What made you fall in love with travel?

My love of travel started off when I was young and my grandma would send me postcards of all the places she visited--Germany, Egypt, Morocco, Ireland, France. I knew at a young age I wanted to work hard to see all the places my grandma was sending me postcards from and so when the opportunity to quit the corporate world presented itself, I knew becoming a travel advisor was the next path in my career. I am coming up on 13 years as a travel advisor this summer and I love sharing my passion for travel, culture and adventure with my clients and helping them send postcards back home to their loved ones.

What's the biggest mistake you see travelers make?

Waiting too late to book! Everyone thinks if they wait last minute they will get a great deal. But you miss out on better flight options, excursion options, making reservations for that special restaurant. I feel the more prepared you are for your vacation, the less stress you have to enjoy your destination.

What is one trip you think everyone should take in their life?

An Alaskan cruise--truly one of the most magnificent places I have ever been to

What's one item you can't imagine traveling without?

My cell phone because it allows me to keep in contact with my clients and take pictures of all the beautiful places I am visiting.

What's your idea of the perfect vacation?

Any place with my husband and children.

What's the #1 thing you wish more people knew about planning a trip?
