Why Mexico Travel Isn’t Slowing Down

If Mexico has been on your radar lately, you may have seen some headlines and wondered if it’s still a good idea.

I wanted to give you a quick, honest update based on what I’m seeing right now (and what other top travel advisors are reporting too):

 What’s Actually Happening

  • Mexico bookings are still strong

  • Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Cabo are business as usual

  • Weddings, honeymoons, and group trips are moving forward as planned

  • Repeat travelers are continuing to book without hesitation.

Where There Is Some Hesitation

  • First-time Mexico travelers

  • Clients who are reacting to headlines without full context

And honestly—that’s completely understandable.

Understanding Mexico’s Geography (and Why Location Matters)

Mexico is a large country—about the size of Western Europe—with destinations spread across very different regions. Cancun and the Riviera Maya sit on the Caribbean side (east coast) in the Yucatán Peninsula, while Puerto Vallarta is on the Pacific coast (west side). These two areas are over 1,300 miles apart, which is roughly the same distance as New York to Miami. In other words, they are not neighboring destinations or even in the same region—what happens in one area does not directly impact the other. This is why you’ll often hear travel advisors emphasize specific locations in Mexico rather than speaking about the country as a whole.

Why Mexico Is Still So Popular

  • Easy, convenient flights from the U.S.

  • Strong value (especially for upscale all-inclusives)

  • Beautiful beaches + excellent service

  • A wide range of resorts for couples, families, and groups

My Take

Most of my clients are informed—not fearful.

They’re asking smart questions, getting real answers, and making decisions based on facts—not headlines.

And when they do, Mexico continues to be one of the easiest and most rewarding vacations to plan.

 Let’s Talk About Your Trip

If you’ve been considering Mexico but aren’t sure what to do next, I’m happy to walk you through:

  • What areas are best right now

  • Resort recommendations that fit your style

  • Alternative options if you’d feel more comfortable elsewhere

No pressure—just real guidance so you can make the right call for you.
