What got you started in travel?
Like many travel advisors, I got my start in the magical world of Disney Destinations—and thrived in it. Planning those unforgettable trips to the parks felt like second nature. But then something wonderful happened: my clients started asking, “Can you help with somewhere else too?”
Curiosity has always been my compass, and I’ve long been fascinated by how people live, celebrate, and connect across the globe. So I said yes—and dove headfirst into crafting vacations beyond the castles and character breakfasts. The Caribbean was first, with its dreamy beaches and rum punch sunsets, followed by Europe, where history, food, and culture tugged hard at my heart.
My first international adventure? Rome and the Mediterranean with Viking Ocean Cruises—chef’s kiss. That trip lit a fire in me, and now I aim to visit at least two new countries every year.
It turns out, once you fall in love with the world, there’s no going back.
What's the biggest mistake you see travelers make?
One of the biggest mistakes I see is choosing hotel points over the actual experience. I get it—brand loyalty can feel like a travel badge of honor. But trust me, staying inside Zion National Park beats racking up a few points at a chain hotel an hour away. The views from your room (and the lack of drive time) are worth far more than that free breakfast buffet.
And while we’re on the subject of travel missteps—can we talk about passports? They are not accessories. Please, for the love of rum punch and common sense, do not wear them on a lanyard during your Caribbean excursion. Lock them in your hotel room safe where they belong. A passport tan line is not a souvenir.
What's one item you can't imagine traveling without?
I never leave home without an external phone battery—because let’s be honest, our phones are our cameras now. And nothing ruins a perfect sunset or surprise gelato moment like the dreaded “1% battery” warning. Memories don’t wait for a recharge!
What's your idea of the perfect vacation?
To me, the perfect vacation is one that checks all the boxes for my family: a dash of adventure, a dose of culture, plenty of fun, and unforgettable food—tied together with memory-making moments. Whether we’re nibbling macarons under the Eiffel Tower in Paris, belting out Taylor Swift at karaoke on a Norwegian cruise, or riding Guardians of the Galaxy for the third time at Disney World, it’s all about the shared joy. If we’re laughing, exploring, and doing it together, that’s my idea of perfect.
What's the #1 thing you wish more people knew about planning a trip?
I wish more travelers realized just how much of a game-changer it is to plan a vacation more than three months in advance. Why? Because early birds don’t just get the worm—they get the best hotels (especially the elusive ones that sleep five), the top excursions, better airfare, and time to actually enjoy the planning process. Bonus: prices are usually lower, and flexible cancellation policies mean there’s little to lose and so much to gain. Don’t shortchange your family’s experience by waiting—give your trip the runway it deserves!
